Happy 20th Simpsons!!!!!

This week is the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons. I will admit, Homer Simpson is the epicenter of all that is hilarious. But I thought I'd take some time to honor the secondary characters of The Simpsons. 20 years is a long time to develop such great yellow peoples. I'll start with the obvious ones and trickle down to my secondary to the secondary faves. Enjoy!

First the obvious ones:

Mr. Burns is my favorite Simpsons character of all time. Other than Homer (that goes without saying from now on). When he's the vampire in the Treehouse of Horror episode. When he gets his medical tests and goes up and down the small escalator and proclaims "I'm a big boy" sarcastically. His abuse of Smithers. How he answers the phone "Ahoy Hoy". Exxxxccceelllleeennttt.

Grandpa. The picture speaks for itself. His stories single handedly save some episodes.

Flanders. Feels like he's wearing nothing at all. Nothing at all. Nothing at all... I like the episode where he tweeks, where we get to see the little hellraiser, young Neddy. Born to lousy Beatnik parents whom he loathes. Flanders is so much deeper than we know. Even though he stands there "grinning moronoly".

Milhouse. Or as I like to call him (and what I tried to convince my sister to name her dog) Thrillhouse. His mom thinks he's cool but Homer affectionately dons him "The Dud" while playing Mystery Date at the beach house. "He looks like you Poindexter!" Also he's responsible for one of my most favorite written Simpsons lines when he signs Lisa Simpson's yearbook "See you in the car" whilst sitting next to her in the car.

Barney Gumble. Drunk Barney is way better that Coffee-ridden Barney. I like when he goes to a girl scout meeting thinking it's an AA meeting. Or when he's in the B-Sharps and starts dating Yoko Ono. "Did something crawl down your throat and die?" "It didn't die"

Apu. Best moment is when he tries to fake his citizenship with a phony American accent and cowboy hat saying "The Nye Mets are my favorite squadron". I also like his gut.

Now to the Not-So-Obvious but equally as awesome:

Ooter. He is full of chocolate. So do not chase him.

Disco Stu. Doesn't advertise and loves Table 5. Not to be confused with Disco Stud.

Frank Grimes. The perfect picture of one of the Seven Deadly Sins of Envy. Perfectly pissed off. Hates that Homer eats lobster for dinner, goes to the moon and wins Grammys. Electrocutes himself to prove a point. Also known as Grimey.

Handsome Pete. The smallest yet most effective part of The Simspsons. This is not Krusty the Klown.

Hans Moleman. Best known for his independent film: Football in the Groin in which the best part of the flick was a football in the groin. Also adopyed by the Simpson family as a replacement for Bart when he was taken in as Mr. Burn's heir. Homer enjoyed kissing his head cause it's like a piece of dried fruit. Many unfortunate things happen to Hans Moleman but his bad luck was soon passed on the character of Gil. Another great unfortunate character.

Lenny Lenardson. Suspender enthusiast. In love with Carl. Once had a facelift.

Lionel Hutz. Worst lawyer and babysitter on the planet. The judge has kind of had it in for him since he accidentally ran over his dog. Replace dog with son and accidentally with repeatedly.

Kirk Van Houten. Milhouse's dad. He get a divorce and his wife starts dating an American Gladiator. He is no longer a big shot at the Cracker Factory. Sleeps in a racecar bed. Wants to borrow a feeling. Sucks at pictionary.

The nerds. They help Homer cheat his way through college. Discourage his plan from wrapping up the pig mascot in a rug and rolling it off a bridge. Responsible for one of the best episodes ever. Prone to nosebleeds.
